Lectures
Lectures are conducted in a hybrid format. Attendance is optional, with in-person sessions held in Aula VI, Building G.

Test
Lectures conclude with a test during the final lecture (Lecture 5).
- Format: 20 questions, 30 minutes
- Platform: MS Teams
- Passing threshold: more than 13 points – this is a prerequisite for participating in the labs.
Labs and Assessment
After completing the exercises, homework assignments must be submitted via MS Teams. Each missing homework lowers the final grade by 0.5.
Project
Projects must be completed in groups of no more than 5 people.
Project requirements:
- The project should address a real business problem that can be solved using data processed in real time (batch processing for model training is also acceptable).
- Data should be ingested into Apache Kafka for further processing and analysis.
- Any programming language may be used for each component of the project.
- Business Intelligence (BI) tools may be utilized.
- Data sources may include any API, synthetically generated data, IoT devices, etc.

To participate in the course, you need to be familiar with the following technologies:
- Git
- Python, Jupyter Notebook, JupyterLab, Google Colab
- Docker and Docker Compose
- Apache Spark, Apache Kafka
